Spotlight on Accessibility: The Forward movement
The Forward Movement is a dynamic organization that focuses on changing the way that current accessibility symbols are used. They are static, and do not accurately represent the individual. The Forward Movement aims to change the way that we define these symbols, because thats the thing- individuals are all capable and resilient in their own way.
They are not defined by their restrictions, but an change maker, and initiator for change.
The strength and perseverance which many of these individuals has is a key factor in the Forward Movement, because they are not defined by their disabilities. They are just as much able to move forward achieve their dreams, succeed in the workplace and all aspects of their lives, and this is why the Forward Movement was started.

Reframing the conversation around ability,
and promoting access & inclusion for people of all abilities
We live in a 21st century society where equality and self expression is a priority. As a result, the way that we use symbols and images is really important. and promoting access & inclusion for people of all abilities
We must take into consideration that images and symbols have a big impact on the way that others perceive others, and thus the accessibility symbol has a big influence.
In order to make it a message for initiation and inspiration, we must change the way that accessible symbols are depicted. Individuals with disabilities are not limited by their disability, and it is importance for us to empower one another.
