Peya December Holiday Conscious Gift-Giving event

I was so excited for the Peya December Holiday Conscious Gift-Giving event (Occured at December 15, 2019) ! As an exec at PEYA, I am so happy that many youth are taking the initiative to learn more about the environment and getting to know more about the impacts of our consumption. As an exec at the Ontario Nature Youth Council, Peel Community Climate Council, and President of Eco Club Erindale, I think the environment is vital to our world. This event mainly focused on educating participants about different holiday conscious gifts, and also taught us about the impacts and consequences of the holidays. Over 10000 tons of paper get used every year, and the average household purchases for gifts has increased by over 800$ on average! Thats crazy. This means a lot of waste. This presentation taught me to try and decrease my footprint and do more in my power to use less.
